Samford University releases deans lists after the close of the fall and spring semesters each academic year. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. One of the most unique experiences you can have in college is studying abroad. Georgia Southwestern State University offers a range of study abroad opportunities to its students, including the upcoming service learning program to Peru during spring break and a program to Bulgaria during the first summer session. In addition to these short visits, students are able to attend colleges abroad for semesters at a time. It is this route that Mikaela Shimko from Cumming, Ga. decided to take.
