On May 6 and 7, Georgia Southern University held its annual spring commencement ceremonies for graduate and undergraduate students at Hanner Fieldhouse and Allen E. Paulson Stadium. Interim University President Jean E. Bartels, Ph.D., R.N., conferred more than 3,300 doctoral, master's, specialist and bachelor's degrees from the University's eight colleges during two separate ceremonies.

To be eligible for the President's List, students must earn a 4.0 GPA for the semester and complete at least nine semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must earn a 3.50 GPA for the semester and complete at least nine semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

The following students were recently inducted into Georgia Southwestern State's chapter of the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success (Sigma Alpha Pi) and were among 65 new members inducted during the society's spring member induction ceremony. The society also recognized several faculty and student members with awards.

The following students have earned the distinction of Dean's List at the Georgia Institute of Technology for Spring 2016.

Presented to a student enrolled in the Department of Kinesiology and Health who is involved with disability sport organizations in Atlanta. The recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Georgia Southern University recently recognized 1,340 students for excellence in academics on the Spring 2016 President's List. To be eligible for the President's List, a student must have at least a 4.0 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

Georgia Southern University recently recognized nearly 2,600 students for excellence in academics on the 2016 Spring Semester Dean's List. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

Valdosta State University is proud to announce its Spring 2016 Dean's List. Students who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional grade point average of 3.00 or higher are recognized by being placed on the Dean's List. Developmental studies, transients, and graduate students are not eligible for Dean's List status.

Approximately 1,940 students have made the Spring Semester 2016 Dean's List for academic achievement at Coastal Carolina University.

The university's spring commencement ceremonies were held May 6-8 for some 1,200 participants; in total, UNG conferred more than 1,500 degrees and certificates for spring semester.

Coastal Carolina University has announced that 640 students made the President's honor list for high academic achievement for the 2016 Spring Semester.

The deans of each of UNG's five colleges - the College of Arts & Letters, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences & Professions, the Mike Cottrell College of Business, and the College of Science & Mathematics - announce the names of some 1,800 students who achieved Dean's List honors for spring 2016.

Dr. Bonita C. Jacobs, president of UNG, recognized more than 1,200 students who earned a 4.0 during the spring 2016 semester. Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor's degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average were named to the President's Honor Roll. Students enrolled in associate degree programs who met the same level of achievement were named to the President's List.

TROY is pleased to announce students who have been named to the Provost's List for the spring semester and Term 4 of the 2015/2016 academic year. Full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who have a grade point average of at least 3.65 qualify for the Provost's List. The spring semester includes students at the Troy, Ala., campus. Term 4 includes students at TROY's campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Ala., along with locations outside of Alabama and online.

The Andrew Young School Undergraduate Scholarship is awarded to recognize outstanding student leaders and scholars in the policy school. It provides financial assistance to undergraduates who demonstrate academic merit, leadership and need.

The following local students completed courses with exemplary marks and made the Dean's List for the 2016 spring semester at Georgia College in Milledgeville, Ga.

Approximately 1,100 students were graduation candidates for Coastal Carolina University's commencement ceremonies on May 6 and 7, 2016, at the HTC Center on campus. Grand Strand businessman and civic leader Dennis L. Wade was the speaker for the event, which consisted of four separate ceremonies.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Lacrosse team entered play today in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament. The Patriots, who were the #4 seed in the tournament after a 7-4 regular season (3-3 AAC), would take on #1 seeded St. Andrews University (SAU) in the semifinal round. UC unfortunately fell too far behind early as their late game push wasn't enough to overcome the Knights, falling in the game 9-6. The loss finishes UC's inaugural season at 7-5 overall.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Lacrosse team took to the field on Saturday, April 9th against the Eagles of Asbury University (AU). UC was looking for their 7th overall victory as their regular season came to an end, and did just that winning a hard fought game by a final score of 10-6. The win moves the Patriots to 7-4 overall on the season and 3-3 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC), earning a spot in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament.

The following people recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Congratulations to the 2014 Global Ambassador Program cohort for their outstanding service and leadership! Global Ambassador Program participants demonstrate intercultural communication and leadership skills through conversations, interactions, and acculturation with visiting international students at Georgia State University.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Lacrosse team would open up their inaugural season on the road in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play on Friday at Montreat College (MC) in Montreat, North Carolina. With the Patriots anxiously awaiting to hit the field for the first time in program history, emotions would run high throughout the game as UC would band together for a very convincing first win in program history, defeating Montreat by a final score of 22-8.
