The following students earned the distinction of Faculty Honors for Fall 2015 at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Approximately 2,248 students have made the Fall Semester 2015 Dean's List for academic achievement at Coastal Carolina University.

Dr. Bonita C. Jacobs, president of the University of North Georgia, has recognized more than 1,200 students who achieved a 4.0 grade point average during the fall 2015 semester.

The following local students completed courses with exemplary marks and made the Dean's List for the 2015 fall semester at Georgia College in Milledgeville, Ga.

Troy University is pleased to announce students who have been named to the Chancellor's List for the fall semester and Term 2 of the 2015/2016 academic year. Full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who earn a grade point average of 4.0 qualify for the Chancellor's List. The fall semester includes students at the Troy, Ala., campus. Term 2 includes students at TROY's campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Ala., and Global Campus, which consists of teaching sites outside of Alabama and online.

Nearly 300 students received course credit through study abroad experiences during the 2014-2015 academic year.

The following local residents made the Summer 2015 Academic Achievement List at Georgia Southwestern State University and were among 374 students recognized for scholastic achievement

Georgia Southern University recently named 2,611 students for excellence in academics to the 2015 Spring Semester Dean's List. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

Georgia Southern University recently held its annual spring commencement ceremonies for graduate and undergraduate students at Hanner Fieldhouse and Allen E. Paulson Stadium. University President Brooks A. Keel, Ph.D., conferred more than 3,300 graduate and undergraduate degrees during two separate ceremonies to accommodate the graduating classes.

More than 1,700 students made the spring 2015 Deans' Lists at the University of North Georgia (UNG) for achieving a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B. The deans of UNG's five colleges — The College of Arts & Letters, The College of Education, The College of Health Sciences & Professions, The Mike Cottrell College of Business, and the College of Science & Mathematics — announced the names of students who made their respective lists.

The university's spring commencement ceremonies were held May 1-3 on UNG's Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses. This spring semester, UNG conferred some 1,300 degrees. Additionally, 36 graduating members of the Corps of Cadets took oaths as second lieutenants in the National Guard or U.S. Army.

Orientation is a day-long program that offers new students and transfer students the opportunity to establish a link with faculty in their intended major, become familiar with the campus and the array of academic and campus life programs available and "take care of business" to prepare for move-in.

Samford University releases dean's lists after the close of the fall and spring semesters each academic year. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.
